About this site
A peaceful moment at Gimnyeong Beach

Jeju is not just a destination. For some of us, it is a lineage.

JEJULOGY is an independent archive dedicated to the island of Jeju — its history, culture, and the places that quietly hold its stories. My ancestors have called this island home for generations, and so do I, at least in spirit. I was born into a family rooted in Jeju, and though my daily life now unfolds elsewhere, the island has never left me.

By profession, I work in IT. By inclination, I am a local. What I bring to this archive is not academic authority, but something rarer in the age of travel content: genuine familiarity. I know which fortress walls have been standing since the Joseon era and which ones were quietly reconstructed. I know the villages that rarely appear on itineraries, and the layers of meaning behind the places that do.

JEJULOGY covers Jeju's history and cultural heritage as its core, alongside the landscapes, local spots, food, and accommodation that deserve more than a quick rating. The writing here is not a travel blog in the conventional sense — it sits somewhere between a field note and a personal record, written with care for readers who want to understand Jeju, not just visit it.

If that sounds like something worth following, subscribe below. New pieces are delivered by newsletter, and the full archive is always here whenever you need it.
